Description

The NDT Technician (TNT) is a bimonthly curated email newsletter for NDT technicians and Level I and Level II practitioners. TNT seeks authors to write articles on emerging technology, training and education, and safety. Articles should be written in a way that introduces readers to NDT fundamentals, methods, applications, and technologies.

Article Guidelines:

Length

Articles submitted to The NDT Technician typically range between 1000 and 3000 words. Text should be written in a Microsoft Word compatible program. (Google Docs is a good alternative to Word.)

Submissions should be original (not published elsewhere, either online or in print).

Photos and Figures

If possible, include images to enhance your text. Photographs and illustrations should be at least 1000 pixels wide at 72 dpi. Height can vary.

Be sure to get permission to reprint illustrations or text that have been used in other publications, online, or belong to other parties. Permission to reprint must come from the copyright holder. (The copyright holder might be an individual, a publishing house, or the organization for which the material was produced.) Copyright holders of illustrations will be credited in the article.

Commercialism

Articles are not to be used for direct promotion of a product, service, or other self-interest. Services may be discussed from the point of view of implementation, insight from an end-user, lessons learned, or any noncommercial point of view. No company names or trademarks should appear in the text, though they may be cited in acknowledgments, references, and author affiliations.

Use generic terms for products: for example, polyaramid instead of Kevlar® and acrylic instead of Plexiglas®.

References

If your submission requires references, they should appear at the end of the text and be listed in the order of occurrence. DOI numbers should be provided if available.

Copyright

ASNT will not publish material without a signed transfer of copyright from the author. Submission of an article implies that the content has not been published elsewhere and will not be published verbatim elsewhere.

The copyright transfer allows the author to link to or share the content electronically, distribute copies for internal use, use the materials for lectures or classroom purposes, and share PDFs for internal company use. Content can be reused in future works provided ASNT is credited as the original source of publication. Content may also be used in derivative publications based on this work.
